YahELite Wildcard Ignores

Using the wildcard ignore feature is a way to automatically ignore a chatter based on your prediction that you will not want to see their text because their name is similiar to other chatters that you have ignored. It is a powerful yet easy to use tool that will help banish bots and lamers from your chat world!

An easy way to get started on your personal ignore list is to open up your Manage Ignores window by pressing your F8 key and take a close look at the users you already have ignored. The next graphic is the right side of the Manage Ignores Window

Look for Patterns
Ignored User List Scroll through the list of ignored chatters looking for patterns in the names. Bots and malicious chatters have many names that only differ a little bit. Notice in this list many names are similiar to Moneyyyyyyyy00245.

Press the Manage wildcard ignores button to open up a window where you can edit the wildcard ignore list.

In the above list adding mon* will ignore every chatter in the user list as will mon?y*.
Adding *yyyyyyy* will ignore all but six names.
The window has directions and examples for you to follow. The list is so easy to edit that the best way to learn about it is to practice and play as you can easily change anything you do.
Remember that UppEr and LoWEr cAsE letters you enter your words in does not matter.

Edit Wildcard List Read the Directions

Use a question mark (?) if you want to match one character
Use a pound sign (#) if you want to match one number, or
Use an asterisk (*) to match multiple characters.

Any chatter entering the room using a name that matches any of the wildcards in your list will be automatically ignored unless they are on your friend's list.

Temporary Wildcards

Type /wild wildcardpattern in the text input line you use to type text into the room to ignore a series of chatters for just that session. An example would be /wild mon* to ignore everyone in the example list. When you close YahELite it will not remember the temporary wildcards you have made.
